Kim & Chang and Palo Alto Networks sign MOU to respond jointly to cyber breaches

On October 27, Kim & Chang signed a memorandum of understanding with cybersecurity company Palo Alto Networks to respond jointly to clients' cyber incidents. Under the MOU, Palo Alto Networks would provide technical support (threat detection and incident analysis), and Kim & Chang would use those findings to advise on regulatory reporting, notifying affected individuals, investigations and disputes. The two also plan joint seminars and training on breach preparedness. Managing partner Jeong Kyung-taek said the partnership aims to help clients respond quickly and accurately in a crisis.

why it matters

Kim & Chang now has a named technical partner for breach response and is pitching speed and accuracy in a crisis. Firms with cyber practices may find clients asking who their technical partner is.

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer advised FleetPartners Group on its proposed acquisition by SG Fleet Management, which is owned by funds managed and advised by Pacific Equity Partners, by scheme of arrangement with an implied equity value of about A$1.131 billion, the firm announced on October 21. Sydney partner Philippa Stone led the team, with Sydney partners Hayley Neilson and Patrick Gay; the firm describes a "highly competitive process involving strategic bidders." Implementation is expected in March 2027, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.

why it matters

HSF Kramer put this Australian public M&A mandate on its global newsroom, which gives its Sydney bench credit in front of an international audience. Competing firms announcing ASX schemes can name the lead partners and the process story, not just the price.

CAM lands credits on the InsuranceDekho–RenewBuy merger and Triveni Power's listing

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Goldman Sachs, a shareholder in InsuranceDekho, on InsuranceDekho's roughly $1 billion merger with RenewBuy, Bar & Bench reported on October 22. On October 27 it reported that CAM advised Triveni Power Transmission on listing its shares on BSE and NSE after the demerger of Triveni Engineering and Industries' power transmission business into it; partners Devaki Mankad (capital markets) and Ramgovind Kuruppath (corporate M&A) led the teams, and partner Amita Katragadda provided strategic input.

why it matters

CAM's name appears on two Indian deal announcements in Bar & Bench within a week, keeping it visible in trade-press deal coverage. Competitors without a steady feed of deal credits get less of that visibility.
